Meet: Black Veil Brides

This band is one of my all time favorites. They are one of the few bands who can actually split up their fan base: either you love them or you hate them. They are the most theatrical, determined, down to earth, kindhearted, caring men I’ve had the pleasure to meet. The put on an amazing live set and know what they’re doing, what they want, and what they have to do to get it. Each member brings a different quality/personality to the band that seems to mesh and compliment one another. This is some of their story (sounds kinda like the beginning of a Law&Order episode):

In 2006 Andy Biersack (vocals) started the band under the name Brides with: Johnny Herold & Nate Shipp on guitars, Phil Cenedella on bass, and Chis Resenberg on drums. Sometime in 2008 Andy moved to LA from Ohio and recreated the band with Chis Hollywood and David “Pan” Burton playing guitar, and Sandra Alvarenga on drums. Soon after, BVB released an EP and the music video for the song “Knives and Pens”. This is were they begun to gain a fan base. Following this, Ashely Purdy joined the band on bass and they released another EP now under the name Black Veil Brides. This lineup worked well for a while, but sometime in November Pan and Chis left the band claiming “differences in direction and clashing between members.” BVB was signed to Standby Records and added Jake Pitts and Jinxx as replacements.
On July 20th, 2010 (one day after I first saw them live), the band released its first full length album titled “We Stitch These Wounds” and has been touring nonstop since. Two months after the release, Sandra left the band and joined Modern Day Escape. In comes Christian Coma, better known as CC, to replace her and now we have the lineup that is on tour today.
Black Veil Brides second album, Set The World On Fire, was released on June 14th, 2011 by the major label: Lava/Universal Records (They left Standby Records). The band continues to tour constantly despite Andy’s health issues (broken rips before the 2011 Warped Tour, and most recently a broken nose) in order to reach their goal of taking over the world. They have another album set to come out in April along with another EP titled “Rebels EP” that is set to drop sometime around Christmas.
